POSITION SUMMARY:
The Medical Assistant is directly responsible to achieve Pride Family Medicine goals and he/she is specifically responsible for the following functions and duties, but not limited to, the following:
Clinical Tasks:
- Take vitals, patient history, and chief complaints
- Assist with exams and minor procedures
- Administer injections, perform EKGs, collect specimens
- Phlebotomy experience required
- Give medications and vaccines; provide patient education
Administrative Tasks:
- Schedule appointments
- Maintain EHR and documentation
- Answer phones and relay messages
Patient Support & Office Maintenance:
- Educate patients on care
- Restock supplies and clean exam rooms
- Ensure HIPAA/OSHA compliance

Additional Duties
- Practice in accordance with the state’s laws, rules and regulations. Medical Assistant shall practice as a member of an interdisciplinary health care team for all patients. As a member of this team, Medical Assistant will assist in coordinating patient care services.
- Perform patient care services as delegated by providers within scope of training.
- Keeping and maintaining (or causing to be kept and maintained) appropriate records relating to all professional services rendered by him/her under the Agreement;
- Performance of all things reasonably desirable and necessary to maintain and improve his/her professional skills.
- Work as a member of the practice team, cross training on appropriate job task throughout office and helping as needed.
- Have a thorough knowledge of all services and products Pride offers.
- Regularly attend and participate in staff meetings and pertinent training.
- Keep your designated treatment rooms—as well as all staff areas you might have access to—clean, uncluttered and organized.
- Properly care for and maintain equipment, including maintaining equipment and maintenance logs on equipment/procedures as required by office and state laws.
- Exude a positive attitude and personally contribute to a high-quality work environment
- Be on time for your shift, prompt with each appointment and perform services within the appropriate time allotted for the service.
